About Me

I live on the North East coast with my family and love getting out on the beach with my dog. I have a life long interest in food, how it makes us feel, brings us together and provides us with comfort.

My personal health has had it’s ups and downs and I decided to learn more, undertaking 4 years of study to qualify as a Registered Nutritional Therapist. I have used this knowledge personally to support and improve what felt like the inevitable illnesses of my genes and ageing – increasing blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels, waist size, digestive health and menopause symptoms along side an auto immune condition.  Small changes really can make a difference over time.

Finding things that you enjoy means you can be consistent and make changes that become the everyday normal. Having a good relationship with food and understanding that good nutrition is about what you eat overall. Not every individual meal needs to tick every box, because food does so much more than refuel us, it can also bring us together and be the basis for shared memories and joy.

Living well as we pass through our mid years and into older age is really important to me, I want all the years to count.

When I’m not supporting clients, I’m at The Bay Foodbank. I hate the idea that people go about their day with an empty belly not of their choosing, it’s just such a basic need. So if you’re just passing through here, do me a favor if you can and pop something in your local foodbank, it makes a real difference.

Thanks. Kay x

New research means the field of nutrition is often updating,
e.g. understanding the role of the microbiome, peri-menopause support, healthy ageing, weight loss medications, and long COVID etc.

Whether it is a one-hour webinar or a full-day deep dive into a particular nutrient or condition, keeping up to date with science-backed information is vital for me to be able to effectively support clients.
